First opened in 2004 by Matt Poston, Poston Motor Company was named as a tribute to his grandfather’s Chevrolet dealership, which was in business in the 1940s. The business has a long family tradition of excellent customer service and quality care. Matt Poston began his love affair with cars and mechanics in 1967, working on his Ford Mustang in high school. By 1987 he was working in auto repair shops while attending night classes at Georgia State University and pursuing a degree in business management.
Upon graduation, Matt obtained his ASE master mechanic certification and decided to combine his business training with his mechanical expertise, and open his own auto repair shop. As business increased, the shop naturally grew in size and scope. It is a testament to the quality of service provided that the business continues to grow, driven largely on referrals from satisfied customers. From its meager beginnings with a single lift and one employee — Matt himself — the shop now has nine bays and seven employees.
